Photo Etching on Zinc

Photo Etching on Zinc

On this new etching course, you will learn how to transfer a positive photographic, digitally created or hand drawn image from a transparency on to a metal plate. You will prepare your plate by applying a photopolymer film, that is then exposed to light to capture your image in its superstructure. The plate will then be developed and etched in copper sulphate to create a negative composition, which can be inked and printed in the traditional intaglio manner.

On this course you will create a 15x15cm sized etching and print it successfully on an etching press. By the end of the course, you will have created a small variable edition of prints to take home.
