Dale Devereux Barker – Linocut Layering with chine Colle
2 day course
23 & 24 September 2025
10am to 4pm
£295 including all materials
Artist & Printmaker Dale Devereux Barker has been using lino for over forty years and is constantly reinventing how this humble material can be manipulated into producing surprising and engaging imagery.
This two day course investigates that area where print meets collage. Using either found collage material or pieces of printed paper made using lino blocks, students will combine their own cut blocks to create innovative and surprising results. Students will learn about cutting lino blocks, controlling layers of ink but most importantly how to utilise composition and risk taking to create a body of new works.

• Initially working on a small scale (12x12cm) to refresh yourself with the relief printing technique and glue down various pieces of ephemera to incorporate into the printed process
• Experiment with various aspects of using different opacities and transparencies of
inks as well as aspects of cutting into blocks.
• You will be encouraged by Dale to be creative in taking risks and developing your sense of composition
