Summer Holiday Family Printmaking Day

An opportunity for the whole family to spend a fun day together exploring printmaking in a professional studio. Learn about the two techniques of linocut and drypoint etching - how to use the different tools to make your image, how to apply ink and how to print using a press and by hand.

Adults and children work together learning two different printmaking skills, print individually and collaboratively. Go home with lots of original prints, and maybe discover a hidden talent for printmaking!

Course structure
• Explanation of the two techniques and looking at examples.
• Introduction to the tools and equipment.
• Demonstrations of how to cut lino and scratch a drypoint acetate.
• Making your printing plates.
• How to use a roller to ink up your lino block.
• How to use scrim to ink up your drypoint plate.
• How to print with the presses.
• How to print by hand.
• Take home your work as a memory of the day together.
• Suitable for all abilities aged from 8 years.
• Bring a picnic lunch.

Payment / Terms and Conditions

For all courses except CPSC Certificate course

Full payment of the course fee is required when booking a place. A reserved place is not secure until full payment has been received.

If for any reason you are unable to attend, we will refund monies paid minus a £15.00 admin fee, as long as you cancel your place more than 1 month before the course start date.

Course transfers are at the discretion of Curwen Print Study Centre. Curwen Print Study Centre reserves the right to cancel courses – a full refund will be made in these circumstances.

For CPSC Certificate course

Payment of the deposit for Term 1 is required when booking a place. A reserved place is not secure until this deposit has been received. The outstanding balance for Term 1 is due before the start of Term 1 and payments for Terms 2 & 3 will be phased in a similar way. The receipt of your Term 1 deposit is acceptance of commitment to all 3 Terms of the Certificate course.
