Stanley Jones’ early training was at Wigan School of Art then, in 1954, he went to the Slade School of Art in London where he studied printmaking with Ceri Richards. In 1956 he moved to Paris to work at the Ecole de Beaux Arts and then at the atelier of Gerard Patris. In 1958 Stanley and Robert Erskine set up the Curwen Studio in London and Stanley also began lecturing in li-thography at the Slade School. He went on to work with many artists including Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Edward Bawden and John Piper alongside continuing to produce his own lithographs and paintings. He has participated in many group exhibitions as well as having one-man shows and his work is held in private and public collections throughout the world. Stanley is Life President of the Curwen Print Study Centre.

Susan Aldworth is a contempo-rary artist whose work investigates the relationship between mind and body. Her experimental work in print, time-based media and installation includes the Transience etchings printed directly from human brain tissue, and the Reas-sembling the Self suite of lithographs which she printed with Stanley Jones at the Curwen Studio. Her work is held in many public and private collections in-cluding V&A, British Museum, Fitzwilliam Museum and Wellcome Collection. She has exhibited widely including Susan Aldworth: The Portrait Anatomised at the National Portrait Gallery, London, Realisation at Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge and most recently Illuminating the Self at Hatton Gallery and Vane in Newcastle. Susan is an associate lecturer on the MA Art & Science at Cen-tral Saint Martin’s and is a regular presenter on BBC Radio.
Susan was the last artist to work with Stanley at the Curwen Studio before he retired. They made the stone lithography suite called CODE together.

For all courses except CPSC Certificate course

Full payment of the course fee is required when booking a place. A reserved place is not secure until full payment has been received.

If for any reason you are unable to attend, we will refund monies paid minus a £15.00 admin fee, as long as you cancel your place more than 1 month before the course start date.

Course transfers are at the discretion of Curwen Print Study Centre. Curwen Print Study Centre reserves the right to cancel courses – a full refund will be made in these circumstances.

For CPSC Certificate course

Payment for Term 1 is required when booking a place. A reserved place is not secure until this payment has been received. Payments for Terms 2 & 3 will be due at the end of the previous term. The receipt of your Term 1 payment is acceptance of commitment to all 3 Terms of the Certificate course.

If for any reason prior to the commencement of the course you are unable to attend, we will refund monies paid minus a £15.00 admin fee, as long as you cancel your place more than 1 month before the course start date. Once you start the course on Term 1 you have committed to all 3 terms. Course transfers are at the discretion of Curwen Print Study Centre.
