Screen Printing with Drawing Fluid

Screen printing, sometimes called serigraphy or silk screen printing, uses the method of creating an image on paper or fabric by pushing ink through a screen mesh with areas blocked off by stencils. The stencils can be made from paper, drawing fluid, screen filler or a light sensitive emulsion.

On this introductory course you will learn how to use drawing fluid to create positive stencils and/or screen filler to create negative stencils directly on the screen. This technique is a great alternative to using a light sensitive emulsion stencil and it enables you to capture a wide range of expressive autographic marks in your screen print. You will also learn how to set up the equipment, mix inks and use a squeegee to print your image onto paper.
