Louise Maclaren is an East Anglian artist and printmaker living in Norfolk. She offers courses and private tuition from her studio. In her quest for a portable multifunctioning printing press that wasn’t going to hurt her back or her bank balance, Louise came across ‘The Slama’ hand presses. Impressed by the Slama’s performance, quality and design Louise decided to sell these innovative little presses here in the UK, whilst continuing her own printmaking practice. Based on a ball bearing system, invented by Czech printmaker Milos Slama the presses come in two sizes. They are capable of printing relief prints and intaglio prints to a good standard.
