Outreach Programme
The Curwen Print Study Centre can bring Fine Art Printmaking to you. Tutors, portable presses and materials can deliver Relief, Intaglio, Monoprinting and Screen printing workshops within your environment. Outreach offers a variety of opportunities from one day visits to longer term projects. We have experience of working with galleries (Kettles Yard - Cambridge), museums (British Museum, University Museum of Zoology - Cambridge, The Fitzwilliam Museum - Cambridge) community groups and schools in both an educational and recreational capacity. The advantage of Outreach is that we do the travelling eliminating transportation costs plus removing the administration burdens a trip involves. EDUCATION PROGRAMME |
Teacher Training
Specific training courses for the teaching profession in support of the curriculum. All the workshops are practical printmaking days producing a wealth of material and techniques to take back to school. It is not essential to have a printing press to be able to achieve quality print making in a school environment. The accent is on dynamic but cost effective methods giving a fresh insight into printmaking. All workshops are suitable for all levels of experience. Training can be booked as an individual or can be arranged for school departments. |

Bursary Awards
As an educational charity we have limited funds to offer schools full or part funded Bursary places for deserving students to study Fine Art printmaking. It gives students the opportunity to experiment with a multitude of techniques working in a small group with an artist printmaker. Students develop both their creative ideas, technical skills and experience. Most students leave with a portfolio of work across a wide spectrum of techniques. We welcome support from new sponsors. |

Art Loan Scheme
Students learn how to produce a series of unique prints in the Curwen Print Study Centre which are then available for loan or sale. The scheme is managed by students and encourages pupils to expand their creativity and develop their business skills. The prints are framed professionally and exhibited at a private view to which local businesses are invited. The students produce both the invitations and catalogues. Companies and individuals will be invited to participate and support the scheme in either of the following ways: 1. Loan Scheme - for a fee of £70.00 per year the company has the benefit of a framed unique print on display in their offices. At the end of the loan period the company returns the print to the college. The benefit is that the company can choose fresh artwork to display in their premises each year. 2. Purchase Scheme - should the company or individual prefer, framed unique prints can be purchased outright as indicated on the individual artwork. Financial incentives exist for those loaning or purchasing more than 4 framed prints. All framed unique prints are signed by the artist. The monies generated are used to fund and manage the art loan scheme for the next group of students. Private view and shows have been held to date at the following venues: Kettles Yard - Cambridge, University Cambridge Zoology Museum, Granta Science Park, The Daryl Nantais Gallery, The Walnut Gallery in Sawton Village College, Linton Village College. |
