Introduction to Traditional Hard & Soft Ground Etching
Wednesday 29 March or 6 September or Tuesday 19 September
10am – 4pm
1 day course with David Borrington MA RCA
An introduction to the fascinating technique of traditional etching. This course will explore the basic principles of hard and soft ground etching just like the great master artists, experimenting with clear hard and soft pencil quality lines. You will learn how to process your plate: preparing, applying grounds, timing your etching, inking up and producing single colour prints. Ideal for those who enjoy line drawing as well as textured mark making. Suitable for beginners and those with basic experience wishing to refresh their skills.
