Stanley Jones Master Lithographer shares The Curwen Archive

Stanley Jones’ early training was at Wigan School of Art then, in 1954, he went to the Slade School of Art in London where he studied printmaking with Ceri Richards. In 1956 he moved to Paris to work at the Ecole de Beaux Arts and then at the atelier of Gerard Patris. In 1958 Stanley and Robert Erskine set up the Curwen Studio in London and Stanley also began lecturing in lithography at the Slade School.

He went on to work with many artists including Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Edward Bawden and John Piper alongside continuing to produce his own lithographs and paintings. He has participated in many group exhibitions as well as having one-man shows and his work is held in private and public collections throughout the world. Stanley is Life President of the Curwen Print Study Centre.

Payment / Terms and Conditions

For all courses except CPSC Certificate course

Full payment of the course fee is required when booking a place. A reserved place is not secure until full payment has been received. If full payment is not received within 10 working days of a place being reserved, the booking will be assumed to be void.

If for any reason you are unable to attend, we will refund monies paid minus a £10.00 admin fee, as long as you cancel your place more than 10 working days before the course start date. Cancellations received less than 10 working days before a course starts will require the full course fee to be paid.

Curwen Print Study Centre reserves the right to cancel courses – a full refund will be made in these circumstances.


For CPSC Certificate course

Payment of the deposit for Term 1 is required when booking a place. A reserved place is not secure until this deposit has been received. If the Term 1 deposit is not received within 20 working days of a place being reserved, the booking will be assumed to be void. The outstanding balance for Term 1 is due before the start of Term 1.

If for any reason you are unable to attend, we will refund monies paid minus a £10.00 admin fee, as long as you cancel your place more than 20 working days before the course start date. Cancellations received less than 20 working days before a course starts will require the full course fee to be paid.

Curwen Print Study Centre reserves the right to cancel courses – a full refund will be made in these circumstances.
