Understanding how to use Colour

A fun and informative day learning simple colour theory. Explore neutralising colour, opaque and translucent colours, and the balance of colour within a composition. Experiment with different colour palettes and learn the unique aspects of different colours. Explore colour theory through the production of abstract colour prints. By the end of the course you will have at least 5 x A4 prints to take home.

Course structure
• Explanation of principals of Colour Theory with examples
• Learn the principals of colour mixing
• Experiment with mixing and transforming colour
• Create A4 abstract images using mixed colour pallettes
• Print your plate using the etching presses and hand burnishing techniques

Experience level
• Suitable for all abilities and anyone with an interest in colour.

Payment / Terms and Conditions

For all courses except CPSC Certificate course

Full payment of the course fee is required when booking a place. A reserved place is not secure until full payment has been received. If full payment is not received within 10 working days of a place being reserved, the booking will be assumed to be void.

If for any reason you are unable to attend, we will refund monies paid minus a £10.00 admin fee, as long as you cancel your place more than 10 working days before the course start date. Cancellations received less than 10 working days before a course starts will require the full course fee to be paid.

Curwen Print Study Centre reserves the right to cancel courses – a full refund will be made in these circumstances.


For CPSC Certificate course

Payment of the deposit for Term 1 is required when booking a place. A reserved place is not secure until this deposit has been received. If the Term 1 deposit is not received within 20 working days of a place being reserved, the booking will be assumed to be void. The outstanding balance for Term 1 is due before the start of Term 1.

If for any reason you are unable to attend, we will refund monies paid minus a £10.00 admin fee, as long as you cancel your place more than 20 working days before the course start date. Cancellations received less than 20 working days before a course starts will require the full course fee to be paid.
