Introduction to Collagraphs

Collagraph is a technique that relies upon the surface quality of different materials glued onto a printing plate to produce an image. Marks can also be cut and scored into the plate and it can be printed as a relief or intaglio image or as a viscosity print. On this course you will design, construct and create a collagraph plate using found objects, carborundum and a variety of textured materials. This will be printed both as an intaglio and a relief image and you will experiment with inking techniques.
