Etching using B.I.G. grounds - Drawing & Impressions

NEW - Book both Etching courses at the same time and save £10!

Description
On this new contemporary etching course, you will be using the innovative and non-toxic B.I.G. grounds developed by Andrew Baldwin of Trefeglwys Print Studios in Powys, instead of traditional hard or soft ground, to coat the metal plates. This new approach to etching makes it a technique that can easily be done in a home environment. The main constituent of B.I.G. is ink, and it allows the artist printmaker to experiment with many different effects on their etching plate. Once applied to the plate and set, marks are made through it using a sharp tool to expose the metal beneath and the plate is then etched using copper sulphate. On this course you will learn how to create an A5 size etching and print it successfully on an etching press. You will take home a small variable edition of prints.
