Further Lino

Linocut is a relief printing process in which the lino is cut away to leave an image on the remaining raised areas and it is this which is then printed. On this course you will learn how to create and print a multi-coloured 150 x 150 mm image by using either the Key Block technique or the Reduction technique:
• The Key Block technique uses different blocks of lino for each colour in the image along with the Key Block - which unites the coloured layers when printed over them.
• The Reduction technique uses just one block cutting away more of the block after printing each coloured layer, cutting to keep areas of the previous colour - the block is reduced by each layer.

Whichever technique you choose to explore, you will be taught how to create a multi-coloured image by cutting and printing each layer of your design. By the end of the course, you will have created a variable edition of 5 prints.
