Introduction to Printmaking - Half Day Courses
Three half days which build into a comprehensive Printmaking experience. Bring your own images that inspire you. Artists can attend as many or as few days as they choose – with cost-saving incentives to attend more. Join us for all three days or choose individual days to suit you and your printmaking experience. Aimed at beginners and those wishing to refresh their Printmaking skills.


Introduction to Lino

Cut into and then print an image from a 150 x 150 mm square Lino block.
Use masking techniques to produce multi colour prints from your one block.
We will be using water based inks.
Maximum 6 places

Thursday 13 September, 10am - 1pm

Introduction to Dry Point

Use a Dry Point needle to etch lines and textured marks into flexible acetate. Trace etch your own A5 drawings. Push ink into the line and print detailed fine line prints. Leave ink on the surrounds to add depth and texture.
We will be using water based inks.
Maximum 6 places

Thursday 20 September, 10am - 1pm

Introduction to Monoprinting

Work on A4 sized images using several Monotype techniques: transfer drawing, masking with paper stencils, use of textured papers and manipulating ink on the plate using brushes, rollers and cloth.
We will be using water based inks.
Maximum 6 places

Thursday 27 September, 10am - 1pm

Payment

A deposit of £50 per day is required to confirm the booking, with the exception of Certificate Course which requires £400 deposit (cash, bank transfer or cheque only).
Cheques should be made payable to ‘Curwen Print Study Centre’. The balance is due on the first day of the course or start of each term.

Certificate fees are paid in 6 instalments across the 3 terms.

If for any reason you are unable to attend, we will refund monies paid minus a £10.00 admin fee, as long as you cancel your place more than 10 working days before the course start date. Cancellations received less than 10 working days before a course starts will require the full course fee to be paid. (In respect of Certificate courses 20 working days notice is required.)

Curwen Print Study Centre reserves the right to cancel courses – a full refund will be made in these circumstances.
